Epson Artisan 1430 is printing a dark band at top of print but intermittently

And right after it prints this way, the next print looks good again. I have reinstalled printer drivers, print head cleaned using the software, used different programs to print from, cartridges have been replaced. I am at a loss as what to do next..anyone else ever have this issue? Any ideas?
