Epson ET-7700 won't print

Had the black ink smearing problem so replaced the square ink sponge as well as adding 2cm of tube to allow easy reinstallation of the pad. Turned it back on. All seemed well until I tried to print. Nothing. Goes through motions but no ink on paper. Done all the routines, not that it was giving me problems before I did the repair. Plenty of ink in tanks. Just isn't reaching the print head. Any ideas?

What happens if you reduce the tube to it's original size?

I can't see that will affect anything as its a drain tube, unrelated to the white supply tubes.

What type of sponge material did you use when replacing? Have you done this before?

I managed to source a new part. The piece replaced had nothing to do with ink supply... It's the head cleaning device
