Epson R2400 prints shows small lines across

Epson R 2400 printer has not been used for a few months. Prints after this hiatus show barely perceptible lines running transversely on the print.about a couple of millimeters apart and slightly dark. Are these lines likely to disappear as the printer is used more frequently. Is there anything that can be done. The image printed is nice and clear and the colors are correct and vibrant.
