Epson Stylus Photo R2400 with iMac OS 10.15 not printing like screen view

My Epson Stylus R2400 prints well. However, the prints are much darker and with a different color balance than the screen views of the images. I have to estimate how to apply color balance and brightness/contrast in order to get an acceptable print. The Epson instructions are a joke. I've used Macs and 2400s for over ten years. I have had two printers of about eight which exhibit this problem. How can I get the screen image to look pretty much like the result after printing?
