Epson WF-2760 won't go to replace ink cartridge position

I went to ink cartridge replacement mode to replace a cartridge but didn't have one to replace it with so I turned it off. Now I have a replacement cartridge but when I turn it on my screen message is "do not recognize installed ink cartridge(s) try reinstalling again". However, I can't remove or replace any cartridges because I can't get rid of the message mode to go to replace ink cartridge mode.
