Our church has a Canon PIXMA iP1600 printer running off of a WIN98 computer. The printer takes PG 40 and CL 41 cartridges. I recently replaced both empty cartridges with new ones. These new ones were genuine Canon, not "compatible" ones. My problem is that the printer thinks the new ones are empty and throws up a message each time I try to print a document. I can "X" the message out and continue with the printing, but I would like to know how to convince the printer that new, full cartridges have been installed. I have tried removing and reinstalling the cartridges and restarting the computer, but I still get the message.
