From Printer to Mac

I have just got a new wireless Epson printer XP-412.
Set it up fine and prints and scans good
BUT I cannot scan photos from the printer to my Mac 0SX 10.5
a message says connect with USB.
Should this happen when it is wireless?

Most likely it is due to you using the old version of OSX as drivers are only updated on MAC with every Operating System Version(10.5,10.6,10.7 etc.)
