Most likely it is a dried up set of heads. Not familiar with that exact printer. Does it have heads on the cartridges? Or, stationary in the carriage? If in the carriage, most likely it is the heads. Otherwise, changing the cartridges would solve the problem.
Internal heads are very fragile. They are easily cleaned but proper actions are necessary to keep from damaging them. Use a well known head cleaning liquid and follow instruction they give. Good luck
