Hi. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated - HP helpdesk are useless and exploitative.
System: Windows 7 on a variety of PCs.
Router: D-link G624
I've had it hooked up to the network for over a year and it has always worked fine.
Over the last couple of weeks it started getting slower and slower and now doesn't print at all.
In the print file queue it reaches about 97% (eg. 3MB/3.20MB) and then it hangs and eventually prints out an error message.
Sometimes Word or Adobe PDF will crash too.
I spent a morning with the helpdesk trying to sort it.
We updated the drivers.
Pinged the network address.
Reinstalled software.
Restarted the spooler.
The printer works fine with USB.
So it seems the problem is with the network connection.
But the printer shows up fine on the network, the ping tests said that there was no loss of info and we all have internet.
The network cable is brand new.
Any ideas what causes this slow down?
