Kyocera FS-6525MFP Error Jam 9000

When copying using the paper feeder, the paper is fed through and copied, but the device tries to continue even though there is no more paper in the stack and you can hear the transport rollers running empty until error JAM 9000 appears. Could this be due to a defective sensor and if so, which one?
