Kyocera Taskalfa 2554ci black toner / waste cartrigde conundrum

I get the error message to change the waste toner cartridge. At the same time, there is a message that the black toner is low.

From the manual / internet I understand that the black toner cartridge door will open automatically, when empty. After taking out the black cartridge it is suposed to be inserted as a "fresh" waste toner cartridge.

So, I am in the position, where the black cartridge door won't open, because it is not entirely emtpy. At the same time the printe will not print, because the waste toner cartridge is full. So, there is no way to empty the black cartridge.

Any information would be appreciated.
