Hi all,

I've got a Laserjet 4100 manufactured Feb 1999 that has done 44,000 pages since new. However, a while ago it started always jamming under the toner cartridge on the last page after a large print-out. The jammed page is never part of the print-out - the whole print-out has been completed and ejected - it's an additional spurious page. The jam always happen when the paper is just under the lip of the black surface under the toner cartridge, always at the exact same place. The attached pictures will show this.

How can I fix this issue please?

Many thanks!

The paper pick up solenoid pad has worn down to the glue and is sticking. Remove the solenoid and clean the glue off the body and the arm. Wrap 3 layers of good quality electrical tape where the pad was and reinstall. Or replace the entire pick up assy RG5-5277. You can get it from Ed at Metrofuser 908-245-2100X129

Thank you so much for your response! I'm trying to find the solenoid pad on the pick-up assembly, but can't seem to find it - I assume the pad is above the paper tray - I can see a roller and a plastic bit with 4 half rollers, but can't seem to see anything else - can you advise please?

The solenoid is inside the lower right frame. You have to separate the upper and lower sections of the printer to access the pick up assembly. See the attachment
