hp colorlaserjet pro 252 won't print

I have a hp colorlaserjet pro 252 about a year old and it will not print at present - I'm using an apple iMac computer and safari software - When printer does not print after sending print command to it I click on printer icon at bottom of my apple home page and go to printer area and it says printer paused then I click on resume and still no printing and get message printer is not connected - I have unplugged the printer for 30 sec and it did not fix problem -any suggestions -thanx
