Lexmark stopped supporting MacOS X

I am completely new to the forum. I just wanted to know why Lexmark have stopped supporting the Mac OSX system? I'm running 10.11.6 on a MacBook Pro and a 5K retina iMac but with no luck. I had been using my 544 for a couple of years with earlier OS X but now no support at all it seems. Can't really understand why a manafacturer would stop supporting an establishd OS like Mac. Anyone any news or information?
