Lexmark X2500 has been working OK for a couple of years. Suddenly when pushing the power button I hear two loud banging noises. I opened the top and I could see upon pushing the power button, the ink carriage instantly goes from the right side, bangs against the left side and then instantly goes back to the right side and bangs against the end of the track. It only takes less than two seconds to complete the travel both ways. It does not stop in the middle to check the cartridges. These are hard metallic sounds and sound destructive.
I'm guessing it's a goner. Any suggestions certainly appreciated
