My printer worked great, a Lexmark X2690, until I had to put it in storage for 6 months. My computer now shows the color cartridge still has 70% ink left, but will not print any color at all. It also would not print in black and was at 2%.
I just replaced the black one because it showed about 2%. The black # 4 cartridge works fine now and prints anything in black media. Is it possible as I think, that the color cartridge tip area is dried up like an old pen and if so WHERE IS THE TIP so to speak, and if I can clean it. It is a # 5 color cartridge, any help would be appreciated.
I have been out of work for quite a while and have a new job finally, with a color report due next week! I don't want to buy another new cartridge if not necessary. Thanks in advance !!
