MFC-2750DW reset toner count

My MFC-2750DW tells me that my toner is done and won't let me print. There are a couple of ways to reset the toner counter on the web and they used to work. However, they have stopped working. Thus I am left with a toner cartridge that could easily print many pages before it goes bad, but I can't use it. Any help finding a way to reset the toner counter would be appreciated. Without being able to reset the toner counter I am wasting a big chunk of each toner cartridge. Thus, if this doesn't get fixed, at the end of the present cartridge, I'll junk the Brother and buy another brand. Too bad. Otherwise I'm sort of happy with it. Thanks S
