Hi,
I just recently picked up a Brother ADS-3600W scanner. It works great except when I try and use the control centre 4 to scan to a Searchable PDF, I get the .NET error pasted below. Everything scans fine, the file is created & searchable, but I get this error 1-2 x after a scan, and it is really annoying. This is on a new computer that pretty much only has a browser, and the Brother scanner driver & bundled apps installed on it.
I could just use OCR on a different software but it is MUCH slower so i'd really like to use this built-in feature of my Brother Scanner and only seems to work with CC4.
Odd, I don't get the error when scanning on my main desktop PC, and I have no idea what is different. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the brother scanner driver & software, same error. I tried over USB and over LAN, same error.
I am running x64 Windows 10 pro. I installed the VC Redistributable files in the Brother software package (2005, 2008, and 2010 versions - 2008 and 2010 were already installed). Can't install .NET as it comes with Windows 10.
I've contacted Brother Support but no response yet. Google isn't revealing either.
