Printer Cartridge Not Recognised.

I have an Epson XP-6105 printer which is telling me to replace the 202XL BK ink cartridge. I have done that but it is not recognised. Anyone any idea what is wrong please?

Was it a genuine Epson cartridge or third-party? Have you ever updated the firmware? Don't if you have. It will prevent you from using your third-party if you purchased it already. If it is genuine, try slowly but firmly reseating the cartridge. Making sure the chip is in contact.

Thank for your reply. I have always only used compatible inks and they have always worked but I have just purchased another compatible ink and it works. I guess there is a lesson to be leant that old inks can be past that magic sell by date. Brian
