Problem with paper detection with Brother DCP-T830DW (No Paper MP)

This one has been frustrating me to no end, I'd love to get some help troubleshooting this, Printer is new. Updated everything. Whenever I try to print anything on A4 paper, it says "No Paper MP. Reload paper in MP tray, then press Start." There is obviously paper in the MP Tray, and it's A4. No jammed paper. I've adjusted and readjusted all the sliders in the tray for paper fit, loose, tight, whatever. I've tried printing using on Word/Adobe itself, using the Brother print app on Windows, the Android Brother print app, says the same thing.

The thing that bothers me is when I set the paper size to "Letter", it prints the document with no problem, even if the paper inside the MP tray is actually A4. So it thinks it's printing a A4 document on Letter paper, but it's actually printing on A4.

I've turned it on and off so many times, still the same problem. I haven't tried a factory reset yet, because I'm hoping someone here can diagnose what the actual problem is with the printer. Also, no problem when doing photocopy.

All troubleshooting instructions I've googled all just tell me to make sure there's paper and there's no jam, there frickin' isn't. It prints proper when paper is set to Letter, but obviously my printing will be gimped if everything is set to "Letter".

Brother Printers MP tray doesn't auto detect A4. It will throw "No Paper MP" if A4 isn't set everywhere.

Do this:

1. On the printer itself
Menu → General Setup → Tray Setting → MP Tray
Set Paper Size = A4 and Paper Type = Plain

2. On your computer (printer settings)
Set Paper Size = A4 and Paper Source = MP Tray

3. Make sure the paper guides in the MP tray are snug, not loose.

Why Letter works: Letter is the default, so the printer accepts it even when A4 is loaded.

If there is a still happens, a factory reset usually fixes it permanently.

This is annoying, but common with Brother MP trays.

Thank you so much! Imma try this out, but I'm happy to know what I'm experiencing isn't an isolated case lol.
