Refill Epson 9600 cartridges w Epson 4900 ink..?

Hi,
I have an Epson 9600 which is running out of original ink. I was considering buying refill cartridges and non-epson ink for it, but I came across a box of original Epson 4900 cartridges. Would it, except the hassle of shifting the ink, be unproblematic to use the 4900 ink with the 9600 machine?
Anyone got insight in the difference btw inks?
