Ricoh MPC3001 doesn't go to sleep

Hello everybody. I have a Ricoh MPC3001 that won't go to sleep (standby). All the timer settings in the menu seem to be oké, but nothing helps. When I push the on/off button on top, the copier just gives a beep but won't go to standby. Help please!
