Scan function does not work for Wifi connected Stylus SX235W#

My Stylus SX235W is connected to an HP Laptop via Wifi. It is recognised by the PC (Devices& Printers) and will print from Word, Excel, Acrobat etc. However when I install the Scan software from the Epson site it does not rcognise the printer.

So I tried to correct this by downloading and running the Printer Setup software, again from the Epson site. At the "connection" point in the setup procedure Wi-fi Network Connection was selected; upon clicking next the message "Network interface not available"

But clearly the printer (originally added via the Windows add printer function) is communicating with the PC.

How do I overcome the problem of the Scan programme not recognising the printer?

What is your OS? Windows 10, Windows 7, 32 bit/64 bit etc.
Was Scan software not available on install CD?
Obviously you have a router. Do you know the router address (SSID)?
Do you know router passphrase (password)?

Thanks for the reply. To answer your queries:
1, Windows 10 64 bit
2. I do not recall receiving an install CD - rather a guide with Epson web address to down load
3. Yes it uses an router - as it is in France it is an Orange LiveBox and yes I do have the password
However we are away from the house at present (for a couple of days) so do not have a note of it with me.

I like the dog!

Cheers.

Un-install your scan application Win 10 as follows;

Open the Start menu.
Click “Settings”.
Click “System” on the Settings menu.
Select “Apps & Features” from the left pane. ...
Select the Epson Scan app you attempted to install previously (HIGHLIGHT IT).
Click the Uninstall button that appears.

In drop-down window (top left of page) select your OS (Win 10 64 Bit)

Download Epson Scan Driver V3.783 dated 7-1-2016
Place this on your desktop and then click it to start install
Do not interrupt install process

Should this fail to solve issue, then we will uninstall all Epson software, including
printer driver and begin from beginning.

Uninstall Epson Printer Driver:
Navigate: Control Panel -> Devices & Printers -> Right Click SX235W Icon ->
Select “Remove Device”
Do this for any other remaining SX235 Icons

Uninstall all Epson Software as previously instructed

Download Printer Driver V6.93 dated 10-12-2013
Download Epson Scan Driver V3.783 dated 7-1-2016

Install both after viewing video below:

Here is a Youtube Video that may assist you with WIFI Install:

You may need the Router address (SSID) and Passphrase (password)
