Sheet Music not coming out right: Model MFC-J485DW

I once tried to print sheet music so that I could play it on the piano. But it did not come out right. It had letters instead of notes and overall was illegible(worse, the letters had nothing to do with the notes except for the position they were in). My Momma thinks that it is because some settings have specific sheet music options and that I was simply printing it without those specific options.

But is that really why my sheet music came out looking totally wrong(my Momma tried to print sheet music too and got the same result and hers was much simpler than mine)?
