I have an ancient Lexmark E323 laser printer. Sometimes when I power it on it goes to all lights flashing, indicating a component failure. This happened 3 weeks ago. I tried over and over again over the course of 2 or 3 days to get it to start, but it wouldn't. So I left it for three weeks and tried it again today and it started up first time. This is not the first time this has happened. Does anything about the way it is behaving indicate a way to make it more reliable?
I'm not keen on leaving it running all the time as a way to avoid startup problems, partly because of the waste of electricity and partly because it makes a noise every few hours which would be liable to disturb my sleep.
