Stylus pro 9800 series

I have an Epson stylus pro 9800 series wide format printer and I am have big issues on getting it to print decent images. Do any of you have one and how are you still using it?

I tweak my images in photoshop, save them to a flash drive , move them over to my laptop on which I am running vista on a to print on the 9800. Since the software is way out of date…..I’ve tried Qimage as well but my prints are terrible. Do you have any suggestions? The printer itself is running fine.

Why can't you print direct from photo shop from the original PC ?
Has it recently been colour profiled ?
What inks do you use ?
