Hi everyone,

I’ve recently been exploring creative ways to print designs on tissue paper for packaging and it’s been both exciting and challenging! One of the biggest hurdles is finding the right balance between achieving vibrant prints and preventing tears or smudges during the process.

I came across a detailed guide that dives into techniques, tools and tips for this, including choosing the right type of tissue paper and printer settings. I found it super helpful for anyone looking to up their packaging game or do DIY projects. Here's the link to the guide if you're interested:

Hi there!

Thanks for sharing your experience and the guide, sounds like a fantastic resource! I’ve tried printing on tissue paper a few times, mostly for DIY gift wrapping projects and I agree it can be tricky.

One thing I’ve learned is to always use a lightweight adhesive spray to attach the tissue paper to a sturdier backing, like regular printer paper. It helps keep the tissue stable during printing and prevents jams. Also, setting the printer to a lower ink setting can reduce smudging while still giving decent vibrancy.

I’ll definitely check out the guide you mentioned, sounds like it covers a lot of ground! Have you tried any specific printers or paper brands that worked particularly well for you?

Looking forward to swapping tips!

Hi there! I totally hear you on the challenge of printing on tissue paper. I tried it a while back for some gift wrapping and it was a bit tricky to get the colors right without smudging.

Thanks so much for sharing that guide, I'll definitely be checking it out for some more in depth tips! In the meantime, I found that using a low ink setting on my printer helped a lot to avoid saturation and smudging. Also, from what I've read, pre ironing the tissue paper can help smooth out any wrinkles and create a more even printing surface.

Have you tried any specialty papers? I've seen some thicker, more translucent tissue papers that might hold ink a bit better.

Let me know what other tips you discover from the guide! This could be a game changer for DIY packaging.

Printing on tissue paper sounds like such a fun and creative project! I’ve dabbled in it a bit and I agree that getting vibrant prints without tears or smudges can be tricky.

One tip that worked for me is attaching the tissue paper to a regular sheet of printer paper using a bit of tape around the edges. This helps feed it smoothly through the printer without ripping. Also, using the lowest ink saturation setting can prevent smudging while still giving decent color.

Thanks for sharing the guide! I’ll check it out for more ideas. Would love to hear how your projects turn out!

One helpful tip for printing on tissue paper is to attach the tissue paper to a regular A4 sheet using a glue stick or masking tape around the edges. This prevents it from jamming in the printer.
Also, make sure your tissue paper is completely flat and wrinkle-free before printing to avoid smudges.
Instead of only using inkjet, try a laser printer if available, as it dries instantly and reduces the risk of ink bleeding.
Another unique idea is to lightly spray the tissue paper with clear acrylic sealer after printing to protect the design and make colours stand out without tearing the paper.
Finally, print slowly and choose the highest quality print setting to keep fine designs crisp and clean.
I know a really good site that provides these types of papers. If you want, I can suggest it.
