Using Epson ET-2670 as a Dye Sublimation Printer

I received an Epson ET-2670 Printer as a gift a couple years ago, but I have not set it up yet or added ink. I was considering using it as a dye sublimation printer, but a representative from Epson advised me not to to that. He said that it would work for a few months then stop working. Has anyone else had this experience? If it is turned into a dye sublimation printer are there any safeguards to be considered for keeping it operating properly and are the any recommendation regarding a brand of ink?
