3830 only prints black & white

My HP 3830 was printing fine from an HP PC using Windows 10, but now it will only print black & white and the print previews all appear in black & white too. I have made no changes that might be responsible for the issue. All the printer settings (that I am aware of!) are set to colour and the print test page prints in colour, so the colour cartridge is not at fault.
Any clues on how to fix?
