Hi all,

I’ve been reading about printing options for custom paper cups and noticed that different types of paper and coatings are used — like PE-coated, wax-coated, etc.

I’m just trying to understand which type works best for hot or cold drinks, and how it affects printing quality or sustainability.

If anyone has experience with custom packaging or printing, would love to hear your thoughts!

For custom paper cups, use:

  • PE-coated: Best for hot drinks, smooth surface, great print quality.
  • Wax-coated: Best for cold drinks, moisture-resistant, decent print.
  • PLA-coated or water-based: Eco-friendly options, suitable for both hot and cold.

Choose based on drink type, print needs, and eco goals.
