Brother MFC-9125CN toner cartridges stuck in machine

I have a Brother MFC-9125CN which does not release the toner cartridges when the top cover is opened. On the left side frame of the machine I can see that there is a black part that has broken. This part is is held in to the Left top cover arm( part number LS8131001) by a silver pin that is removable, and it should fit in to a white part that moves backwards and forwards when the top cover is opened to enable the white drive gears to move in and out of the toner cartridges when the cover is opened or shut.I have the spare parts manual but I am unable to see the black part there. Is any body able to help me further. I am a technician.
