Brother RJ-3150 incrementally feeding more with every print or feed

My brother RJ-3150 has recently started with a problem, when I feed a label or print a label it feeds a little to much every time and the labels get overlapped. I'm using a continuous tape of labels and the printer does support gap sensing so what could possibly be causing this.
