Canon imageRUNNER C3100 Windows 7

I'm having a bit of trouble getting a driver that works on win 7 64-bit for a Canon imageRUNNER C3100. It is networked. I have tried the PCL5, PCL6, UFRII, and none of them seem to work. I see this in the print log - status = "NG"; error code = "#853". All machines running windows xp are having no issues. I am at wit's end with this machine and if I can't figure it out, I think I'll chuck it out the window and declare Canon my mortal enemy. You can't even call them for help - they don't support the equipment they make and they say I need to hire one of their technicians to come out for $150 / hour with no guarantee that he can even get it to work. Thanks in advance to anyone who could possibly lend a hand on this problem!
