Canon iPF650 help

Hey guys

I just got a new ipf650. I've been trying to find out if its the ink or not. I just got all the ink cartridges into the printer except one. There is one that is empty. Basically the display of the printer keeps saying to add that last ink cartridge in. 5 of 6 of them are full except one. The printer will not respond to any button or computer input either so its stuck on that display of opening the ink panel and installing that last one. Is this suppose to happen? Is this printer suppose to function only when all the ink is in there? Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.

Yes that is supposed to happen. There are certain things you can do to try and get around it but it's pretty difficult and not always possible.

Yes some printers will not function if there is one ink missing.
