Canon MP360S scanner problem

I recently upgraded my OS from Win XP to Win 7 Pro. I have a Canon Smartbase 360S all in one printer, I went onto Canon website and downloaded the drivers for Win 7 and the printer works fine.
I then downloaded the Canon MP 4.1 toolbox that was recommended as compatible with my printer but the toolbox refuses to recognise the scanner on the printer.
I might add I have a photosuite installed on my computer and the scanner is working perfectly with that.
Checked in the Device Manager and the printer is being recognised.
I would appreciate any help on this.
