Canon Pro-1 "no results"?

    I expect my questions have been asked before so I tried to search for Canon Pro-1 and was returned "no results"... really? I must be doing it wrong!

    So please let me off for asking anew:

    The Pro-1 can't be left turned on all the time - it turns itself off after half an hour or so. Correct?
    Can anything be done about this?

    The reason I ask is that each time it re-starts it consumes massive amounts of ink - a full set of new carts went in just FIVE off-on cycles. Is this right?

    They are not OEM carts - has Canon built in a 'punishment' feature for non OEM consumables? (!!)

    I have been warned about the ink waste tank filling - is it true that it's a 'back to Canon' workshop job to remedy a full tank?

    If I get 4 out of five "yes" replies..... anyone want a scrap Pro-1???
