Can't Download Driver

No matter how complete the download of mp68-win-g2000-1_01-ea34_2.exe is and saved, when the instructions tell me to connect theprinter to my pc and turn on the printer, I'm told the cable is not connected, to unplug it and turn on the printer, but the screen doesn't recognize these two actions. Therefore, I can't get the printer to print.
