I have a Canon MP560 series printer.

Uses a multiple of cartridges. My colour cartridge is out of ink and printer will not let me print till i replace cartridge.
However my black cartridge is full.
How do i by pass the low ink message and get my printer just to print only in Black ink?
or do i have to get a a new cartridge?

hello,
unfortunately until you replace the colour cartridge, you will not be able to print - even if you only want to print black and white!

I had that problem with my canon, too and found if I held the resume button down for a slow count of 5 it would work. I hate this printer! Compared to Epson photo stylus it is useless for pictures.

Actually, you can still continue using if you purchase a reset chip. This chip will do you two benefits because it will not only continually recognize your cartridge but also allows you for a refill.
