Cleaning or replacing 15 year old brother monochrome laser printer?

I have a brother monochrome laser printer HL-5140 which I bought new 15 years ago. I bought new toner 10 years ago, not directly from brother, but from inksell.com. I did not use the printer for the last three years. But now I would very much like to print again.

I have attached two photos of a recent print-out. The quality is not good any more. The white background has grey shades. There are a few small vertical stripes.

I would like to ask: What would it take to make this printer print in good quality again? Some thorough cleaning and maybe new toner? Would it be worth it, or is the printer simply too old?

Thank you for any advice!

Thank you. I thoroughly cleaned the roll of the drum unit with some toner wipe and put in a toner cartridge. The printer works as it was new.
