Controlling my Canon Pixma Pro 9500 Mark ii

Hi guys, does anyone know how I can control my printers output. I'd like to be able to set down the DPI/LPI and set down the quality so that a simple A4 BW text page doesn't take 5 min to print and use up all my toner. Thanks!
