Epsom XP-760 communication error

My XP-760 prints perfectly well, but will not scan. When I try to scan I get ' communication error. Check if a computer is connected' I have uninstalled and re-installed all drivers twice. The printer works well but still does not scan. I have tried my (default) Wi-Fi and a USB connection. Still no scanning.
