ET-4850 and OCR, then printing from iPad/Iphone

Got my ET-4850 today, sweet relief after a long battle with HP software for the first time in years. That was not a pleasant experience.

Epson SW loads OCR scanning but the manual doesn't cover how to use it, is there any information anywhere?
Smart printing should be available, but setup doesn't seem to work. My old WF 4820 didn't need special SW.
