HP1320: worth a new toner?

Hello! I have HP 1320 (duplex, black and white), that's about 19 year old. I also have an old mac (macbook pro mid 2012 with Catalina), I have been having difficulties, for example, when I printed a pdf file with scanned files, somehow, one page (or perhaps more) came out blank. Or, some file I couldn't print from acrobat, so I had to open it with preview, then print. Sometimes reducing the size of the file also helped.

Now, the toner ran out. I had thought that it's time to replace it. But then I found that there were things like RAM upgrade, or also fix about problem with acrobat. I am wondering if it's worth trying upgrading RAM, and get a new toner (I found one on ebay for 27 Euro), or better not to invest? It's not totally dead, so I feel sorry to trash it. I would appreciate your suggestions!

And also recommendations for a replacement will be appreciated! Auto Duplex is important. B&W is enough.

Recycle or sell the parts and buy a newer gently pre-owned printer to save money. A lot of newer printers are made the be replaced unfortunately.

Correct. Especially with HP. I would avoid them like the plague now. They used to have OK home business printers but they've gone downhill so much that there are class action lawsuits against them for unfair business practices.

I don't like telling people to buy new printers but I agree with you.
