I want to scan a photo, post online on Epson RX680

It seemed easy enough. All I wanted to do was scan a photo, post it on facebook and say "That was easy." But it wasn't. I was unable to scan the photo without printing a copy. Suggestions?

Scanning Photos or Pictures (Photo Mode)

1. Place the originals. .
2. Start Epson Scan 2.
3. Select Photo Mode from the Mode list.
4. Make the following settings on the Main Settings tab.
5. Click Preview. ...
6. Confirm the preview, and make image adjustment settings on the Advanced Settings tab if necessary. ...
7. Set the file saving settings.
