Ink on borders

I can't say for certain about your printer, but with some I have owned this is caused by residual ink on the print head being scraped off when the print head moves moves over the photo. As the print head moves from side to side, it is sometimes over top the photo and sometimes to one side of it or the other. Most photo paper is thicker than regular paper. This can cause the edge of the photo to make contact with the print head and scrape off and residual ink on it as the print head moves from the side of the photo to over top. Many photo papers have a little bit of a curl to them which can make this problem worse.

What kind of printer do you have? Are you trying to print borderless or with white borders? What kind of paper are you using?
