My OS is Linux Mint 19.3 Tricia and yesterday I replaced my (deceased) Epson XP-440 with an Epson WF-3820. I can print from my PC (Lenovo ThinkPad T-61) via both WiFi and USB without any problems. I had previously used a Linux program called "Simple Scan" but when I click on Scan it apparently locates the printer and then when it attempts to actually scan an error msg pops up that reads: "failed to scan. unable to start scan." When I use the printer's touch screen and tap scan/computer the printer screen reads: "Install the Epson SmartScan software. I had already done that. Any ideas for me? I will appreciate any help I get. Thanks.
