Opinions on HP 5740 OfficeJet printer

HP offered me a good deal on a returned printer. It's not refurbished or reconditioned. They get it back from a distributor or store and check all the functions and if working okay they put it up for sale.

Any opinions on HP Inkjet printers versus other brands?

I mainly print in black and have thought about an inexpensive black toner laser printer. Opinions?
