Need help locating optical sensor on Epson Stylus Color 1520. I believe it is causing the Open Cover Light to stay on. I found that out from http://ejs.seniejitrakai.net/2006/01/17/cover-open-and-pause-problem-with-epson-stylus-color-1520/ Un fortunately that thread is closed.
"There is optical sensor near the sponge to indicate when the print head approaches landing area. If an alien particle is covering the sensor earlier than expeced, the print head stops and is actually misalligned. You may notice it. Just make sure there are no alien particles travelling with the print head"
I have the service manual but do not see any mention of that sensor. Maybe I am over looking it in the manual. Does any one have a picture of it, or can tell me what it is attached to?
