I am looking for a way to make my scanned PDF files searchable. The best way of course is to use software. But which one?

My only criteria would be that it is inexpensive, easy and accurate. I know that there are a lot of ways to do it. I just do not know which one is best.

I really need answer to this question as to how to convert pdf into searchable pdf's. I know that it can be done with Adobe Acrobat, but how to do it without Adobe Acrobat. There must be way.
