Printer Preferences & Defaults

Admin Default Settings
Printer preference changes made from Devices & Printers, becomes your system “Default”. If we select 3 copies as “Default”, then computer will print three copies for future print jobs. Consequently, our Default is probably always set to just One copy. Navigate as follows:
Start -> Devices & Printers -> Right Click Printer Icon -> Select preferences -> Select # Copies
Any other options selected here will become the new default settings and will be applicable
to new print jobs.

End User Settings
You can also select printer preferences from whatever application you may be using (WORD, Word Pad, Browser, etc) and select three copies. However this will be a one time selection for this one print job. The printer will then automatically revert back to Admin default setting of only one copy for the next print job. This is true for the other options selected in an application (i.e. black only or two sided print or portrait or landscape or whatever). These options or preferences override the Admin Defaults on one-time basis only.

Factory Default Settings
Printers also have Factory Defaults set & allow operators to select “Restore Factory Defaults”.
Start -> Devices & Printers -> Right Click Printer Icon -> Select preferences ->
Select Restore Factory Defaults Under Each Tab

So to sum it up:
1. We Have Print Job One-Time Settings (set by end user from whatever application)
2. We Have Administrator Default Settings (set by the administrator in Devices & Printers)
3. And We have Factory Default Settings.

To choose a default printer, select the Start button and then Settings. Go to Devices > Printers & scanners > select a printer > Manage. then select Set as default. If you have Let Windows manage my default printer selected, you'll need to deselect it before you can choose a default printer on your own.

A complete instruction by MUNBYN For Printer Preferences
Select Start > Settings
Go to Devices > Printers & scanners > select a printer > Manage. Then select Set as default.
If you don't see the Set as a default option, the Let Windows manage my default printer option may be selected. You'll need to clear that selection before you can choose a default printer on your own.

Sublimation ink can go from solid to gas without becoming a liquid, making it the most convenient option. Dry ice is an excellent example. Heat is used to adhere the ink to the surface, which in this case is a mug or a tee shirt. When heat is applied, the pattern is first printed on a special paper that allows the ink to turn into a gas and combine with the sublimation blank.

How to Sublimate on T-Shirts and Mugs?

The Printing Preferences is on the General tab are the current user's personal default printing settings. The Printing Defaults found on the Advanced tab are for finding and balancing the default settings provided to any new users who connect to the printer.

Printer preferences refer to the settings or options that a user can configure for a printer to control its behavior and output. These settings can be adjusted from the printer's control panel or through the software that controls the printer on a computer. Some common best sublimation printer preferences and features include:

  1. Quality and Resolution: Options to adjust print quality and resolution.
  2. Page Size and Orientation: Settings to choose the page size and orientation (portrait or landscape) for printing.
  3. Duplex Printing: Option to print on both sides of a page (double-sided printing).
  4. Paper Source: Setting to specify which paper tray or manual feed to use.
  5. Color Management: Options to control color accuracy and consistency.
  6. Print Preview: A feature that shows a preview of the printed document before it is sent to the printer.
  7. Print Scheduling: Option to schedule a print job for a later time or date.
  8. Print Spooling: A feature that stores print jobs in a queue for efficient processing and printing.
  9. Job Accounting: Option to track and report on printing activity, including the number of pages printed and the cost associated with each job.
  10. Network Printing: Option to print from a network-connected computer or mobile device.
These are just a few examples of the many preferences and features that may be available with a printer. The specific options available will depend on the make and model of the printer, as well as the software that controls it.

2. We Have Administrator Default Settings (set by the administrator in Devices & Printers)
3. And We have Factory Default Settings.
Printer preferences and defaults can be summarized as follows:

1. Print Job One-Time Settings: These are preferences set by the end user for a specific print job within an application (such as the number of copies, color options, orientation, etc.). These settings apply only to that particular print job and do not affect future print jobs.

2. Administrator Default Settings: These settings are determined by the administrator in the Devices & Printers section of the system. Changes made here, such as the number of copies, become the system default for all future print jobs. Other options selected in the preferences also become the new default settings.

3. Factory Default Settings: Printers come with pre-set factory default settings. If needed, operators can choose to restore these factory defaults, which will reset all printer settings to their original configurations.

In summary, users can set preferences for individual print jobs, administrators can set default preferences for the system, and printers have factory default settings that can be restored if necessary.
